We, your hosts, Gregory and Sandra would like to invite you to share our lovely home.

Commanding an elevated hill side position, our beautiful house 'il sorger del sole' (sunrise) is so named because of the most fantastic sun rises that bathe the house in early morning sunlight. Facing south east  the original terraced gardens are charming with a fragrant herb garden with rosemary, sage, fennel, thyme, mint and an abundance of roses & lavenders. There are also fruit trees (Fig, Kiwi, Plum, Cherry, Damson, Peach & Apricot), ancient bay trees and the meadow has walnut trees, an almond tree, a large ancient oak tree, fruit bushes and groves of ancient 'Mignola' olive trees which are over 300 years old and continue to produce olives that are harvested by hand in November which produce one of the finest extra virgin olive oils in Italy - bottled under our own single estate label.

So that you feel 'at home' immediately, on arrival guests are invited to join us for a 'welcome drink' of local wine, a cold beer or if preferred tea or coffee.

As your character guest room is private, very quiet and exclusive you will not be surprised that many of our guests are romantics or honeymooners. With one metre thick castle like stone walls and small windows the intention was that the house be naturally cool and airy in hotter months and warm and cosy in cooler months. The perfect environment to unwind, relax and de-stress.

Stylish and Spacious double en-suite

This spacious double en-suite guest room has an independent entrance with double doors. It has two opening windows, one with views across the olive groves to the distant medieval city of Macerata. The bedroom & seating area has many original features including beamed and tiled ceiling and exposed stonework. Furnished with a comfortable inviting double bed with iron frame, table lamps and soft lighting, wardrobe and storage units, leather sofa, coffee table, rugs, tea & coffee, fridge (including complimentary drinks),  teletext TV/DVD player, radio/CD/tape music system, fluffy bathrobes and hairdryer. The delightful shower room is complemented with wrought iron accessories and has a beamed and tiled ceiling, tiled floor, excellent quality bathroom fittings with traditional wooden vanity unit with large ceramic basin, cupboards, mirror and lights, walk-in shower cubicle, WC  and bidet.

The accommodation has an independent entrance and is accessed through a private wooden vine covered portico and overlooks  the garden, olive groves and the distant medieval city of Macerata. Glazed double doors lead to the bedroom and seating area with completely exposed original stone walls with insets, oak beamed & handmade tiled ceiling and tiled floor. A traditional high opening window in the bedroom area gives extra light. Furnished with a comfortable inviting king size bed, chairs & coffee table, rug, tea & coffee, fridge (including complimentary drinks),  teletext TV, fluffy bathrobes and hairdryer. A separate door leads to an attached private dressing /shower room with traditional high opening window, hanging rail, excellent quality bathroom fittings including tiled shower unit with ceramic base, WC and washbasin with mirror. It has wrought iron accessories to complement the original exposed stone walls,  stone floor and oak beamed & handmade tiled ceiling . If made up as a twin this character room is furnished with comfortable black wrought iron beds. 

A traditional Mediterranean Breakfast using fresh local produce:

A delicious traditional breakfast is served each morning between 7.00 am until 11.00 am and is ideal for early risers or for those who feel like a more leisurely start to the day. Take breakfast around the large kitchen table or outside in the terraced garden, listening to the sound of birds and smelling the aroma of lavender and thyme - the choice is yours! Enjoy chilled fruit juice, creamy yoghurts, exotic fruit platter (in season it includes honey melon or pineapple, our own fresh figs, red, yellow or Victoria plums, apricots, peaches, grapes or walnuts), choose from an appetising selection of delicious local produce platters, a basket of freshly baked bread, tempting croissants and pastries, toast with marmalade, honey, home made jam and coffee or speciality teas.

AND for the comfort of our guests: (included in your room rate)

We try to think of every comfort for our guests and provide cool crisp bed linen, fluffy bath sheets; hand towels & bathmat; co-ordinating rugs & cushions; beautiful crockery & glassware.  In the hotter months we provide beach towels for guests to take to the lake, beach or water park. Throughout the year you will find that little extra touch in your room, eg: spring flowers, lilies or roses from our garden and your room will always be scented with our own lavender and rosemary.

Your accommodation will be cleaned and re-stocked daily with fridge drinks, tea & coffee etc. Towels and bed linen are changed regularly.

'Eat with your Hosts Dinner' 

A very popular option is to eat with your hosts in our Italian style kitchen. This is a relaxed affair around a large table with an emphasis on good food and company. Menu changes daily and varies according to season. The first course usually consists of pasta, gnocchi, risotto, traditional cold platter or soup with crusty bread and the second course usually consists of meat or fish (fried, grilled, stewed or casseroled) with side dishes of potatoes, vegetables in season and/or salad, followed by traditional dolce (sweet) and fruit bowl and chilled Limoncello or Amaretto. Dishes are home cooked and local fresh ingredients are used whenever possible complemented by our own extra virgin olive oil and kitchen garden herbs. We all eat generally the same meal and within reason we do consider particular likes and dislikes. We also cater for vegetarians & vegans. Guests can bring drinks from their complimentary mini bar. 

Popular choices for Spring months are  traditional minestrone soup served with crusty bread, followed by traditional beef stew cooked in red wine and served with thyme potato, green beans with tomatoes, followed by white chocolate roll and Amaretto or spicy sausage pasta followed by chicken casserole, served with rosemary potatoes, spinach with sweet corn, honeyed carrots, followed by nut roll and Amaretto.

With prior notice we could arrange private dinners, snacks, picnic lunches or pack up breakfast for early departures.

Rates and how to make your reservation

We offer a special place to stay to suit everyone's budget. We are located in a peaceful and tranquil location and you won't have the intrusion of noise by staying near to bars or restaurants AND no making beds, no cooking, cleaning or washing up! Our policy for 2010 is to continue to offer EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY to our guests for both accommodation and food - WHY PAY MORE!

Our guests return year after year - we hate to disappoint - so if you have specific dates in mind please book early!

Rates are per room per night and not per person based upon two people sharing and there are no additional taxes to pay

Bed and breakfast rates for 2010 - 1 or 2 night stays from €49,00 per room per night - 3 nights or more stays from €45,00 per room per night 

Room only rates for 2010 - 1 or 2 night stays from €39,00 per room per night - 3 nights or more stays from €35,00 per room per night 

Included in your room rate are:

Mini bar drinks re-stocked daily with a bottle of Italian white and red wine, beer, mineral water & milk. Daily supplies of tea & coffee, soap, shower gel/shampoo.
